This Dior Crème de Rose balm is definitely luxe.

[Yesterday was an indulgent day. When it comes to my lips, I often indulge.]

I’ll get into my obsession with lip balms later. For now it suffices to say that I have many lip balms, and that this is a worthy addition to my options. The rose fragrance is high quality–presents as a true, simple tea rose– and the texture is firm but smooth. On the lips it is slightly tacky, though not so much as a straight ointment would be, in that way that makes me think it would be a great base for lipliner or lipstick.

I love rose, and have had my eye on this for many months. No regrets.

More Indian. A little heavy on the garam masala but even this is no disaster. Good level of heat with some sanaam chilis.

I was going to have green tea mochi when I was offered cake. Not the most fitting progression  but I often eat strange combinations. I see the virtue of careful pairings but…as long as I like all of the elements…

I usually don’t eat dessert at all, am more inclined to drink it if anything. But once in a while I see the appeal.

Guerlain Homme was one of the first fragrances I got myself. It smelled fresh and good, and I later learned that what smelled fresh was mint, and what smelled good, was vetiver.

Perfumer Thierry Wasser explains that his inspiration was, in part, the mojito, and it isn’t far off. It smells like…a manly mojito. I was wearing it today and so started craving mint. Not wanting a mojito, quite, I made my own thing: a gin tonic with cardamom, mint, and lime.

A Werewolf Problem in Central Russia and Other Stories, Viktor Pelevin (the kind of stories it is more fun to read than to try to categorize. SF? Postmodern? Speculative fiction? Who cares. I like them)

Huh, nearly all living writers featured this time, Shax excepted…uncommon for me.

Say what you will about iceberg lettuce. It has crunch.

Flavor? I can add flavor. i.e. bacon. i.e. herbs. i.e. cheese. i.e. more cheese. i.e. rye croutons.
